Driving Agentic AI in Mortgage, Tidalwave Selected for the Google for Startups Gemini Startup Forum

This November, we’re heading to Mountain View.

As an innovative mortgage platform powered by AI, Tidalwave has been selected for the Google for Startups Gemini Startup Forum, a two-day summit at Google’s headquarters. Founders from more than 100 startups will work side by side with specialists from Google DeepMind and Google Cloud. This is the fourth cohort, chosen from over 2,000 applications and representing 17 countries.

The other companies in the room are building AI for things like diagnosing genetic disorders, screening for cancer, and controlling next-generation robotics. Those are fields where a wrong answer has real consequences. Mortgage is one of them. When AI touches a loan file, a mistake can mean a bad loan, and the outcome lands on a family’s financial future. That is a big reason we earned a seat at this table - to continue to deliver AI that drives a better, faster, more transparent mortgage experience.

What we’re hoping to get out of it

The centerpiece of the forum is a personalized AI roadmap, built alongside the people closest to the models. Cheng Li, our CISO, set out five goals for our time there.

Alignment on the Gemini roadmap.

Mortgage platforms are built to last, and the models underneath them change fast. We want a clear view of where the Gemini model family is headed, so we can stay aligned on strategy and roadmap.

A deeper look at the model internals.

Time with DeepMind experts is a chance to understand how the models work, not only what they output. The better we understand the internals, the better we can integrate them into Solo.

A stronger relationship with the Google Cloud team.

Closer ties with the GCP team should mean better service quality and a sharper grasp of best practices, which matters when lenders depend on the platform every day.

Learning new ways to elevate customer experience.

With the breadth of industries represented, we hope to learn entirely novel ways of delivering value to customers, and creating a truly best in class experience for our industry, regardless of category.

Time with fellow founders.

Everyone in this cohort is putting AI into real products. We want to trade notes on what adoption looks like in practice and what has and hasn’t worked.

What comes next

We’ll be in Mountain View in November and plan to share what we learn when we’re back. Thank you to the Google for Startups team for the selection, and to everyone at Tidalwave whose work got us here.
